At BunkBedsOnline, we will only sell products that meet our high standards for quality, design, and durability. If any manufacturer does not meet our standards in all of these categories, we will not sell the product. We feature hardwood products such as Birch, Ash, Oak and Maple. We also offer other materials and products, but only if they also have the strength and durability to be a quality addition to your home. If you have any questions about specific products or materials, please contact a BunkBedsOnline representative.
When shopping for bunk beds, you may come across these terms and wonder about the difference. Most of our beds come with a slat roll system, which serves as the mattress foundation. A slat roll consists of a number of boards, usually about one inch wide, that go across the bed to hold up the mattress. Our slat systems contain between 14 and 16 slats. Bunk beds also can use a bunky board. A bunky board is an upholstered board that normally looks like a flat box spring, and serves the same purpose as a slat roll: the mattress support. If any of our beds use a bunky board instead of a slat system, it will be indicated in the product description. Both slat systems and bunky boards are required to meet the ASTM standards for bunk beds, which is to withstand a minimum of 400 pounds of pressure. There is no real advantage of having one or the other; they really serve the same purpose.
Please note: When you buy from BunkBedsOnline, the mattress foundation is included unless noted in the product description as a separate item.
At BunkBedsOnline.com, safety is one of our highest priorities. This is why we only work with manufacturers who meet or exceed all of the current ASTM and CSPS standards for bunk bed safety. In addition, we also do our own third-party safety checks for lead and other harmful toxins.
The standards our manufacturers meet include the following:
Working with the right manufacturers and a third party safety company combine to help us offer safer products for your family.
BunkBedsOnline works with Essco Safety Check, a Bellevue Washington company, who performs inspections of toys and other consumer items. For more information, please visit www.essco-safetycheck.com.
For additional information about safety, please contact us at BunkBedsOnline.com, or you may also get information from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Their web site is www.cpsc.gov.
It is typical of our products to require at least some assembly. Since most of our products are assembled by the customer, our products are designed with the idea of making assembly as easy as possible. Key structural elements, such as headboards, will arrive pre-assembled. Detailed instructions will be included, along with a complete set of hardware. Most of our beds use a hex wrench for assembly, which is included. Typically the only tool required will be a screwdriver. Most of our bunk beds take about 30 minutes to one hour for assembly, and it is much easier if two people are involved.
The modular components and style of our line permit modification of the furniture to meet the changing needs of the growing child or expanding family. This allows a family to build on its initial furniture investment rather than discarding and replacing furniture as needs change. In addition, buying qualityproducts also brings value, as these are items that can be used for years to come. Combined with an attractive price, this gives BunkBedsOnline.com products the sort of value that benefits your family for many years.
